Build a Better Block, Build a Better Haymount is a one day event that demonstrates the potential of an area through TEMPORARY treatments such as bike lanes, cross walks, street trees, street lights etc. to demonstrate how walkability can be achieved through minimal adjustments to the transportation grid.
A placemaking grant has been approved through the National Association of REALTORS® and the goal of the event is to create a pedestrian friendly area for the day. This is a unique opportunity to see the practical possibilities and stimulate conversation about this well recognized and prized area of the community.
Build a Better Block helps demonstrate how automobile-dominated streets can be transformed into places where automobile, pedestrian and cyclist can all be adequately accommodated.
The Better Block Event will be held on March 10, 2018 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m, 1200 Hay Street

The Town of Hope Mills is conducting a survey in conjunction with the McAdams Group in order to best reflect the desires of the citizenship of the Town in regards to the best use for the Golf Course now Known as the Recreational Complex. There is a 13 Question survey on the Town’s website www.townofhopemills.com that leads you to the link for the survey. (link to survey is below) In addition, the Parks & Recreation Center and the Town Hall will have hard copies of the survey available for distribution. The Town encourages all its citizens and interested parties to take a few moments to answer this brief survey in order to receive input for design and planning.
